Introduction of Research Groups

Cyber Security & Information

The group conducts research on cyber security and information, with a focus on hardware, software, and algorithms.

Space System & Technology

The group conduct research on systems for object tracking and identification in space, and systems to support space missions.

Defense Technology

The group conducts research on national defense systems, including integrated system development for defense against missiles and other threats.

Autonomous System

The group conducts research on autonomous systems, including the development of autonomous systems for multi-purpose unmanned robots.

Energy System

The group conducts research on energy systems, including the development of sustainable energy systems for space-based and unmanned operation

Materials

The group conducts research on new materials, including the development of new materials for space and unmanned robots.

Sensor

The group conducts research on precision sensors, including the development of sensor systems for use in all fields of space and national defense.

Quantum System

The group conducts research on plasma process systems and particle accelerator systems involving electrons, ions, atoms and light, including the development of quantum systems for use in all fields of space and national defense.

Education

Military-University Cooperative Program

Based on the MOU signed on Nov. 22, 2011 with the Republic of Korea Army, KAIST offers a master’s/doctoral degree program under a general scholarship for military officers.

Security Convergence Program (SP)

The Security Convergence Program (SP) for KAIST students enrolled in master’s and doctoral programs to utilize KAIST’s advanced science and technology in fostering creative, multidisciplinary talent in defense and security.
